the box project
competition, Tulane University

“the box project” is a challenge issued by the tulane department of undergraduate admissions each year:  “to give further evidence of your depth of thought, analytical skills, imagination, and creativity, use the [the 3” by 3” box] below to explore an idea or academic area of interest”

submissions are reviewed by the deans of tulane’s five undergraduate schools, to determine recipients of the deans’ honor scholarship, a five-year, full tuition and fees award based on the box project and academic background.

this project is constructed from tulane brochures mailed to zach’s home (and a bit of glue). they were repurposed to make not-quite-to-scale models of the vernacular “shotgun” homes that fill new orleans. made to fit in a 3” x 3” box.
